He loved to study hard, work harder, played some, slinked some, provided and earned respect.
When you ride on wave while you do not have to row or control the sail, but reach your destination safely, you’ve got it made. This is my current situation and story as it continues to unfold. Grateful to not walk by sight, because things seen and felt are temporal, but things endured and hoped for are eternal.
It’s been a continued journey of sailing. You are tossed by the waves, some giganamous, some not so big, but waves nonetheless. Yet some lovely and some feels like you will never make it out alive; then you find yourself on the dry side after quite a tumult, heart racing, breath skipping you look back and you wave “thank YOU Jesus”
I’m here again in Europe with the love of my life, and boy am I grateful for this man and the journey that we are on together. Most importantly grateful to the Lord of harvest, the sustainer of love and life and the One who created the first marriage in the beautiful Garden of Eden. I am grateful for you my prince charming. I am grateful for enduring love, my persistent ‘nag’ for your subconscious kindness and mine and for your focused vision.
We are not quite there yet, but arrived at this stop along the way, where we cleave yet on to one another being examples to our children and our next generations. Many look up to us, and we are mindful of that, so we argued behind closed door, and we sorted out a difference that has lingered on for far too long. Then the moment of truth came; and we cried for both remorse and for joy that our maker NEVER fails us, but gives us hope for the future TOGETHER.
28 years with you my love is just the middle of this life of ours, this point on starts a new journey which as I told you, feels like that first night in Badagry. We have stepped back and looked again at where we were, and where we are now is definitely worth the hard road traveled.
The beautiful nights by the seaside again in far away Venice, the hugs, the laughs, the kisses, the sweet nothings, oh the flowers, the chocolate, the many gifts, the affirmation of beauty, the NEW commitment to love, the fellowship, the fasting and the prayers, the love so intensely displayed in Roma, the beautiful dinners for two, the love boat ride in Brindisi, the countryside ride to Lecce, the train ride in love to Naples, the rose petals laid bed. Oh how I love you my MAN!
Last night was intense, and like I told you that you took me back to Festac, but you corrected me and said “no to Surulere, to Kajola, to Badagry, to Ilorin, to Kabba, to Lokoja, to Kano, and that you are committed to loving only me for better or for worse, until death us do part.” I found my best friend again, and I feel loved beyond description. I am thankful for not holding back. I am thankful for your patience, understanding, empathy, humility, passion and purposeful focus. I am thankful for our reNEWed beginning in Jesus and for your new vigor!
I stand by you and your commitment to take the helm of priesthood in our home. May the banner over us continue to be Nissi, and our shield is the BLOOD of Christ our savior.
I love you dearly Olufemi, and I remain your HELPMEET through the next 28 years and beyond. May Christ alone be praised for great things He has done!!!
